Attention all Smithers Ski and Snowboard Club members!

Did you know that there is a book about our ski hill? Did you know that since December 2020, almost 600 copies have been sold, with ALL profits going to the Smithers Ski and Snowboard Club?

This 220 page book covers the growth of the ski hill from 1960-2020 and was written by 4 women, who, along with a technical specialist, have over 170 accumulated years of skiing on Hudson Bay Mountain. This book is full of stunning colourful photos of not only the landscape, but of events and people who have made this mountain what it is today.

Wouldn’t it make the perfect gift and at the same time support your local ski club?

A Mountain of Change is available at the Hudson Bay Mountain Resort office on Main Street and from the authors. It’s available in two formats, coil bound for $35 and ‘perfect’ bound for $45.

Smithers Ski and Snowboard Club is pleased to announce Registration is open for all programs! Please visit our website at www.smithersskilub.com and follow the Registration links and Program Descriptions.

Back by popular demand;

  • U12, U14, U16, and U18+ multiday ski racing programs
    U11-U16 Snowboard one day (Sundays plus camps and events) program
    U13 Ski one day (recreational) program
    U10 ski (Saturday and/or Sunday options) and Snowboard (Sunday)
    … and of course, Masters for those of us who won’t give up the dream or just want to improve.

We have added an exciting new program to the ski side of the club, to bridge the gap between U12 2 day and U10 program. This program is for athletes that are in the final year of U10. Please refer to the details on the website.

As you may notice, SSSC Executive made a difficult decision to adjust program fees, due to inflation pressures as well as increased investment in coaching personnel. We still offer among the lowest rates in the province and are proud of the incredible coaching roster and program plans for the coming winter season. There will be new options this year to divide up season fees. Continued volunteer efforts for fundraising and other duties will keep registration costs as low as possible. Let the snow begin!

Invoices will be sent from SSSClubfinance following registration, there is no requirement for payment at the time of registration.
